My Cat's Gone Missing

I don't even know how it happened. I was packing up some stuff to take to a secondhand store, clearing up some space and getting rid of things I didn't need, and when I came home later...I didn't see him.

I didn't worry at first, simply because Art (that's my cat's name) tended to hide at times when he didn't want to be bothered. But when he didn't show up when I having dinner, I knew something was wrong. So I looked all over my new apartment...and there's no sign of him.

I really don't understand. He's never shown any interest in sneaking out of here before. In my previous apartment, he would, but then, the apartment door led only to an inside hallway. He's never been fond of the outdoors, and on those rare occasions when he'd slip out, he'd come back only a short while later.

I feel like I'm going out of my mind. I've already lost my mother and my previous home, I'm trying to make do on very little while I'm looking for a job, and now I'm scared out of my mind that I may have lost what little immediate family I had left (I'm not counting my brother because...well, I'm sure I've mentioned my brother before).

I've already lost so much. And while Art might have gotten on my nerves from time to time...I want my family back...
